Meet Shakira

Shakira Harris, LCSW, is the Clinical Programs Supervisor Streamline Wellness Center.

In her role, Shakira supports positive youth development through in-school and community-based programming while providing outpatient therapy services. She provides clinical leadership and oversight to ensure the delivery of high-quality, ethical, and evidence-based mental health services. In this role, the Clinical Supervisor supports the professional development of clinicians, interns, and support staff while promoting best practices in social-emotional learning, mental health treatment, and trauma-informed care.

Shakira has a strong focus on supporting youth and geriatric populations. She has extensive experience guiding individuals and families through crises, life transitions, and personal growth. Shakira obtained her Master of Social Work (MSW) from Virginia Commonwealth University and a Bachelor of Science in Clinical Psychology from Chowan University. She has maintained an active Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) credential since 2024. Shakira began her journey at SWC as a VCU intern in 2021 and has since joined the team to continue to support our youth.

Her favorite thing about living in Richmond, VA is the strong sense of community and connection. Having grown up in Norfolk, VA, she appreciates how Richmond reflects a similar cultural richness and collective support system that promotes positivity, growth, and opportunity for youth. She also enjoys exploring the city’s food scene— Richmond has yet to disappoint when it comes to good eats.
